BILL WEBER Biography
TURNER SPORTS
• Bill Weber serves as a play-by-play announcer for TNT’s 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series coverage, joining analysts Kyle Petty and Wally Dallenbach in the booth. This year marks his eighth season as a TNT NASCAR announcer, calling races for both NBC and TNT from 2001-2006 and exclusively for TNT beginning in 2007.
• In 2007, NASCAR.COM debuted a weekly ‘Wednesdays with Weber’ opinion/editorial column focusing on the human interest stories surrounding NASCAR including crew members, families and legends.
CAREER
• Weber served as an auto racing commentator on ESPN and ESPN2 since 1994, primarily as a pit reporter for NASCAR Cup Series telecasts.
• Weber began his career as a sports reporter for WISH-TV in Indianapolis in 1978.
• Weber was the assistant sports director at WTHI-TV in Terre Haute, Ind., in 1979 and WTVW-TV in Evansville, Ind., in 1980.
• In 1981, Weber became the sports director and anchor at WEHT-TV in Evansville. He also produced and hosted sports documentaries and handled play-by-play duties for high school and college football and basketball games at WEHT.
PERSONAL
• Weber received a bachelor of science degree in radio and television with a minor in journalism in 1979 from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN.
