Biography

TURNER SPORTS

• Matt Yocum will serve as a pit reporter for TNT’s 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series coverage.

• Yocum joined Turner Sports in 2001, serving as the first NASCAR reporter to work every single Cup Series race telecast on TNT, FOX and NBC.

CAREER

• For over two decades Yocum has been working in NASCAR, including sixteen years on television.

• Yocum co-hosts a weekly radio show on SIRIUS satellite radio with NASCAR driver Tony Stewart.

• Prior to joining Turner Sports, Yocum worked at ESPN serving in various roles as a motorsports reporter for SportsCenter, RPM2night and ESPN.com.

• From 1995 through 1998, Yocum worked as a motorsports pit reporter covering NASCAR on TNN’s Cup Series race broadcasts and the network’s racing magazine show RACEDAY.

• Yocum’s television career began in 1992 as a sports reporter and anchor at NBC affiliates in Orlando and Bristol, TN.

• In 1995 Yocum won two Associated Press Sports Feature Awards for NASCAR coverage.

• Yocum was awarded a Telly Award for pit reporting at the 1997 NASCAR All-Star Race, and won a Telly Award for his reporting on NASCAR’S greatest drivers.

PERSONAL

• Yocum graduated from Florida State University in 1991, majoring in political science and communications.

• Yocum grew up in NASCAR; his mother worked in the sport for 35 years owning her own sponsor services and entertainment company.

• Throughout high school and college Yocum worked for the International Race of Champions (IROC),where began as a tire specialist and progressed to racecar preparation and maintenance.
