TNT at ING New York City Marathon in Honor of New Series MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, about Three Friends at a Turning Point of Their Lives

To celebrate the upcoming premiere of TNT’s original series MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, the network will have a presence at the ING New York City Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 1 at a key turning point of the race, just across the Queensboro Bridge at 59th Street and 1st Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. In keeping with the show’s three main characters, who are experiencing changes and challenges at the mid-point of their lives, the network will have a presence at a special “Cheer Zone” located at the Food Emporium Bridgemarket, at the point where the race turns from Queens into Manhattan. The area will include banners, signage and street teams handing out MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE items outside of the Food Emporium store.  TNT will also sponsor a MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE team of 40 runners over the age of 40 who will be identified by a custom t-shirt.

TNT and MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE will have similar sponsorships at upcoming marathons in San Antonio (Sunday, Nov. 15); Atlanta (Thursday, Nov. 26); Seattle (Sunday, Nov. 29); and Sacramento, Calif. (Sunday, Dec. 6).

“Running a marathon is a metaphor for life,” said Tricia Melton, senior vice president of marketing for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM).  “Reaching the mid-point means new opportunities and new challenges.  Our ‘Cheer Zones’ at the turning points in five city marathons are a great way to play up that idea, which is a central theme in TNT’s MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE.”

TNT’s newest original series, MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, is a wry drama starring Emmy® winner Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond), Golden Globe® winner Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap, Star Trek: Enterprise) and Emmy winner Andre Braugher (Homicide: Life on the Street, TNT’s Salem’s Lot). The series, which premieres Monday, Dec. 7, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), explores the unique bonds of male friendship among three men experiencing the changes and challenges of mid-life. They have been best friends since college but now, in their 40s, are navigating through the second act of their lives.
