Release Date: 11/3/2009 TBS to Bring the Late-Night Party to Sister Networks TNT and truTV with Simulcast Premiere of TBS’s New Series LOPEZ TONIGHT When TBS and George Lopez get the party started with the eagerly anticipated premiere of the new late-night series LOPEZ TONIGHT, sister networks TNT and truTV will join in a special three-network, premiere-night simulcast on Monday, Nov. 9, at 11 p.m. (ET/PT). In the exciting premiere episode of LOPEZ TONIGHT, Lopez will welcome three special guests: talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres, actress Eva Longoria-Parker of Desperate Housewives and NBA great Kobe Bryant. “LOPEZ TONIGHT is going to bring the party back to late-night television, so we want to be sure to invite as many people as possible,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “With this premiere-night simulcast on three networks, we’ll be able to introduce LOPEZ TONIGHT to a large and very diverse audience. We’re confident that after they see the excitement of the premiere episode, they’ll be back for more.” LOPEZ TONIGHT will air on TBS Monday through Thursday at 11 p.m. (ET/PT). The show comes to TBS from 2.2 Productions, paraMedia Inc. and Telepictures Productions. Lopez is executive producing the show with Jim Paratore (The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Bonnie Hunt Show) and Mike Gibbons (The Late Late Show). Michael Bearden – known for his work with stars like the late Michael Jackson – is band leader for LOPEZ TONIGHT. George Lopez is one of the top-five highest grossing comedians in the world, and now he’s bringing his stand-up skills to late-night television. His groundbreaking sitcom, George Lopez,remains a hit in syndication and helped catapult Nick at Nite to one of the top 10 cable networks. His 2009 comedy special, George Lopez: Tall, Dark and Chicano, was the highest rated stand-up special on HBO in five years. This year, Lopez received the Teen Choice Award for Favorite Comedian. Lopez’s feature film career continues to thrive as well. Next year, Lopez has three films set for release: The Spy Next Door, Valentine’s Day and Marmaduke.
