TBS is averaging 3.9 million total viewers for its exclusive MLB Postseason coverage of the first-ever Wild Card presented by Budweiser and last night’s Division Series doubleheader, an increase of 26 percent compared to the first two days of the MLB Postseason last year. The corresponding 2.5 U.S. rating, based on Nielsen Fast Nationals, is up 25 percent over last year’s 2.0 rating.

TBS’s exclusive live doubleheader coverage of Major League Baseball’s first-ever Wild Card presented by Budweiser averaged a 3.7 overnight rating, based on Nielsen overnight ratings. The network’s telecasts, marking the start of the 2012 MLB Postseason, were up 12 percent compared with an averaged 3.3 overnight rating for the entire Division Series last year. When compared to last year’s opening day of the MLB Postseason (Texas vs. Tampa Bay, ALDS Game 1 – 2.3 overnight rating), the Wild Card games are up 61 percent.

Following tonight’s exclusive TBS presentation of the first-ever, single-elimination Wild Card presented by Budweiser on Friday – Atlanta hosting St. Louis at 5 p.m. ET; Baltimore visiting Texas at 8:30 p.m. – the network’s Division Series coverage will begin tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 6, with a doubleheader.  The Oakland Athletics will visit the Detroit Tigers at 6 p.m. and the San Francisco Giants will host the Cincinnati Reds at 9:30 p.m., both games marking the first meeting of their respective best-of-five series.  MLB On-Deck presented by Dodge Dart will precede live game coverage at 4:30 p.m.
